DURHAM, NC – Father God, I beseech you Oh Lord. For it was you who used a small boy in taking his five loaves and two fish to be miraculously multiplied to feed a multitude of people, thus setting the example for African Americans to this day, to enjoy fried fish and bread at our fish fries all over this nation. However, there is a demonic presence that threatens the deliciousness known to our people in the midst. It has come in the form of previously frozen fish and shrimp!
Our recent foodie tour of North Carolina brought us to Skrimp Shack, located at 3600 N Duke St #28, Durham, NC 27704. The cuisine here was utterly demonic and not of the Lord. Everything was fried to an imperfect texture of staleness and frost-bitten undertow in flavor. The taste of salt was so high that Lot’s wife couldn’t even compete. The seafood here is super processed to a level where I’m sure its journey had to start in Antarctica, then shipped to Fox News anchor Ann Hart Coulter House for seasoning and processing before being fried by none other than President of the Daughters of the Confederacy, Home cook Paula Dean. I have absolutely nothing good to say about the cuisine nor the service.
I won’t spend a lot of time describing the disastrous meal that we endured, but rather provide suggestions to fix it. Please cease all procurement from your purveyors. The French fries, hush puppies, fish, shrimp, everything. Please research a purveyor who can provide minimally processed seafood along with an in-house batter that can be separated for the fish, shrimp, and chicken. Have the oil changed regularly and ensure that staff is monitoring the temperature of both the freezer and cooler, while labeling the boxes with dates. Ideally, you don’t want to have the fish frozen if possible.
You’re in North Carolina, so there are options for fresh shrimp and fish. These will cost you, but you will make it back. Please provide some answers for the diner as to how you would like to see this brand provide a better reality than what is happening here. You can be better and do better. I look forward to coming back and experiencing better. God hear our prayer.
True, but messy.
How’d you miss SaltBox and go to this place? Repent and go sojourn to the temple of fresh fish.
