There is nothing more comforting than a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Unless allergic, at some point every American will experience this nostalgic creation. Making one is quick, fun, and likely the first independent culinary experience many of us had as children. PB & J sandwiches were the go-to for kids in my school without enough money for school lunch. At times, I found myself trading my entire tray for a sandwich here and there, not because I had a good heart, but because I wanted the sandwich. (I’ve grown into very charitable man, so don’t judge 10-year-old Hungry Black Man).
PB & Js are timeless classics people never outgrow, so imagine our excitement to discover the PB & J Factory located at 1220 Waterway Blvd, Indianapolis, IN 46202 (Inside the AMP at 16 Tech). The nostalgic sandwiches were exceptional, epicurean, and gourmet!
We started with the classic Jay Z; by far, my favorite sandwich. I was extremely impressed. The ratio of peanut butter and jelly was impeccable. Then they had the nerve to press it like a panini, allowing the Texas toast to form a warm buttery toast with the hot peanut butter and jelly bursting out to join in a chorus of gooey deliciousness. Lord have mercy, best peanut butter and jelly sandwich I’ve ever had.
We also ordered the Flying Duchess, essentially an apple pie in peanut butter jelly form, and the Cookie Monster was tasty with the sourdough dough bread.
The best feature is your ability to choose any type of bread for your sandwich. You can even add CBD peanut butter but be careful. I had it with my sandwich and the resulting high was a bit strong for me. It took me out the rest of the day so be cautious with that choice.
Everything about this place was amazing. Great service, nostalgic offerings, and incredible flavor is why I give it a 5 out of 5! It’s awesome that you can have it for every meal – breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack – even dessert. It’s probably one of the most convenient and versatile spots in all of Indy. You can reach them at (317) 520-2814.
